Bioinformatics is a broad subject in which biology, medicine, computer science and statistics intertwine. Many times, the basis for bioinformatics is the massive amount of biological data derived from genomic studies, structural biology and other areas of biology and medicine.

This creates a high demand for talented, experienced graduates from biology, statistics and computer science with knowledge in bioinformatics. In the Master’s programme in Bioinformatics at Lund University, students with different educational backgrounds come together and learn the tools to analyse biological data using computational methods. The programme is well suited for anyone who wants to work as a bioinformatician in the future or apply bioinformatics tools in their work and research.
